Flex Meetup - PureMVC

Dec 18, 2008

I ran out of time time today to post this eariler, but we had a Online Flex Meetup  (http://ria.meetup.com/10)meeting tonight and Cliff Hall presented on the PureMVC framework. If you haven't run across PureMVC yet, you should take a serious look at all the work they have done. You can use the framework in ActionScript and it's also been ported over to several other languages. The framework's site is at http://www.puremvc.org/.

If you missed tonight's meetup, we made a recording which can be view from http://adobechats.adobe.acrobat.com/p88582617/. The recording has also been posted at Charlie Arehart's UGTV which is at http://www.carehart.org/ugtv.

Next month's meetup will be on Jan 21 at 7pm EST and the topic will be Design Patterns in ActionScript. Details on that meetup will be posted soon. I'll see about getting someone to speak on Cairngorm and also the UM extensions for Cairngorm in Feb. We'll probably wrap up the frameworks theme at that point and move back into some UI topics. Please email me if you have topic suggestions or would like to speak.

The Online Flex Meetup is a worldwide user group which holds its meetings online over Adobe Connect. It's geared for those people who do not have a local user group or can't make the meetings. Membership is free and open to anyone wanting to learn more about Flex, AIR and Actionscript.
